ABOUT CUSTOM RINGS If you are thinking of having a ring custom made, think twice. Thirty years experience has proven to us time and time again that it’s very risky, since there are very very few jewelers capable of good custom work, both from a design standpoint and technical execution. Never is it a good idea when the sole reason is to save money. The most likely result is disappointment after a long wait. If you still believe it will work out for you, then by all means *do not agree without requiring the jeweler to sign this form beforehand*. This form will protect you from the most common pitfalls of custom promises, or lack thereof. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!!! We at Wilson Diamonds do many of our own unique styles, so while shopping for a ring style, some dealers may offer to make you a copy or near-copy of one of our rings. This happens frequently when another jeweler doesn't have sufficient inventory to sell a ring style they own. To ease your doubt, several assurances are offered in their sales pitches, such as: The quality of workmanship will be the same as (or better than) the original. The ring will look the same as the original. It will not violate any copyright laws. It will only take 2 to 3 weeks to make. The guarantees will be the same. The price will be lower.
